Elephant Skin is our heavily rustic floor and wall cladding. The grade of this timber is DE and you won’t find many flooring shops stocking this product. We brought in this board mainly for feature walls however so far people have been laying this on their floor in their newly built homes. The board is beautifully featured and cracks are ever so present. It definitely contradicts on how a ‘beautiful’ floor should look. This board is raw, so you will be able to stain it to a colour of your liking.

Wood is a natural product subject to colour, character and grain variations. Mineral streaks, knots, splits, cracks and other imperfections will also be present. These add to the natural character of the product and are not considered defects. Real wood is an organic material, the character will vary from tree to tree and board to board. The process used to fume, smoke and/or stain our boards give the product its deep rich colours. Because each board will accept the surface treatment differently, we cannot guarantee that the wood floor you order will exactly match the sample board that you were given. It is extremely important that boards are selected from multiple cartons and shuffled during the installation process. Moldings should be matched to boards that will enhance the look of the installation before the installation process begins.
